Better for our communities

We are leading the way on environmental performance

KPMG has been measuring and managing its environmental impact for seven years. We are still the only one of the ‘Big Four’ accredited to the international environmental standard ISO:14001 across all our UK offices.

Our Responsible Consumption programme inspires employees to cut the direct impacts of the firm – energy consumption, paper, water, waste and travel – and encourages people to take personal responsibility. Half of the annual cost savings made are donated to our staff charity, with £340,000 donated over the last three years.

We are now examining how climate change may affect relationships with clients and how we can operate more efficiently. Our Utility Steering Group is working to embed best practice in the firm, while our Carbon Think Tank is looking at how the KPMG business model might change in a low–carbon world, and what we need to do to stay ahead.
