We are addressing our toughest carbon challenge
We’ve made great progress on environmental performance, however, our main carbon challenge remains air transport, which is growing at 8 to 9% a year, given the growth of our business. As a relationship business, much of our work depends on face-to-face contact, and therefore travelling is essential.
We are addressing this. We already take part in around 10,000 hours of audio conferencing each day and will do more. Video conferencing is now available in all of our UK offices and has saved around 9.9 million miles of travel in the last four years. Car sharing schemes and incentives to use public transport are helping. There’s more to do here but we are working hard to find smart ways to minimise our impacts.
