We are integrating CSR into everything we do

Really effective CSR – work that makes a big difference inside and outside the business – requires strong leadership. So in 2006 we established our first CSR Leadership Team, headed by UK Board member Ashley Steel.

The group defines our CSR strategy, makes sure our performance is measured rigorously and reports back regularly to the main Board. Our priorities are to integrate CSR into the business and help KPMG people understand fully why CSR is important.

An important objective for the firm is to develop closer relationships with our clients, suppliers and people, to help embed CSR into the way of life at KPMG. Our work was recognised in 2007 when we were shortlisted for an Environmental Leadership Award from Business in the Community for successfully integrating environmental strategy into the business.

A new code of conduct for suppliers, due to be launched early in 2008, will help us spread best practice even further by ensuring all major KPMG Europe LLP suppliers meet high environmental, community and employment standards.
