We are retaining talented minority ethnic people
We have applied the learning from our Retaining Talented Women programme to support the retention and progression of people from ethnic minorities. Lack of role models is a real issue here. So is the perceived tendency of managers to promote people “in their own image”. Only 4% of partners are from minority ethnic backgrounds – a high figure for the profession, but we want to do better. We are already making excellent progress in graduate recruitment, where 30% of recruits are from minority ethnic backgrounds.
