European Audit Committee Chairman’s Forum (EACCF)

The European Audit Committee Chairman’s Forum (EACCF) has been created to provide audit committee chairmen, from some of the most respected organisations in Europe, with the opportunity to debate issues of concern with their peers and to develop practical ways in which to enhance both audit committee effectiveness and the functioning of the capital markets.

Membership

Membership is by invitation only and limited to a select group of audit committee chairmen drawn from some of the largest and most respected companies in Europe.  There will be a balance of current and retired executives; and a balance of KPMG audit clients, and the clients of other audit firms. There is no fee to join the European Audit Committee Chairman’s Forum.

Meetings

The EACCF will meet around twice a year in major European cities.  Each meeting will be hosted by a member of the Forum.

Each event will feature one or more highly regarded speakers, but primarily the format is designed to enable audit committee chairmen to debate matters with their peers.

Objectives

The objective of the EACCF is to provide members with the opportunity to:

    • explore the challenges audit committee chairmen face in discharging their duties;
    • debate issues of concern with their peers and develop practical ways of enhancing audit committee effectiveness;
    • share emerging best practices from across Europe and North America;
    • debate and help shape emerging regulation and best practice guidelines;
    • receive insights into developing best practice audit committee processes;
    • benchmark their committee’s activities against those of other leading European companies; and
    • help enhance the trust in the capital markets.

Reports

‘Groundwork’ - Members will receive a preparation document in advance of each meeting to help plan for the meeting and stimulate dialogue.

‘Perspectives’ - A summary of the insights and best practices discussed within the Forum prepared for the benefit of members, their board and management colleagues.

Members will also have access to Audit Committee Institute and other KPMG materials relevant to audit committee members.

Secretariat

KPMG’s Audit Committee Institute (ACI) will organise and facilitate. The ACI will draft and circulate the timetable and framework for each event and any associated materials.
