Aim:
The KPMG sponsored Audit Committee
Institute (ACI) aims to be
the first point of call for
any audit committee member wishing
to implement and/or improve
audit committee processes.
Key facts:
• ‘A global
network’ – There
are now ACIs in over 24 countries
worldwide assisting audit committee
members across the globe in their
quest to improve governance in organisations
operating in, for example, the
USA, Australia, Belgium, Columbia,
Switzerland and Malaysia.
• ‘A European forum’ – The
European Audit Committee Chairman’s
Forum (EACCF) brings together
audit committee chairman from
the top 100 European companies,
on a bi-annual basis, to debate issues
of concern with their peers and
to develop practical ways in which
to enhance both audit committee effectiveness
and the functioning of the capital
markets.
• ‘The
UK ACI’ – interacts
with 94% of FTSE 100 companies
and audit committee members
of: mid and small cap companies,
AIM companies, Charities, Social
Housing organisations and many
more services in the UK.
• Events – The
ACI run a regular programme
of events including bi-annual
technical update seminars, a breakfast
programme for members from FTSE 350
companies and a variety of sector and
subject specific events, which provide
members with a wide and comprehensive
technical resource programme. Full

• Publications –The
ACI issues a number of varied publications
designed for audit committee members
including ACI Quarterly, Horizon, the
ACI toolkit and various ad-hoc publications
which are produced in response to regulatory
and commercial developments in the
governance arena that will be of interest
to audit committee members – a
