Social Housing Newsletter

Autumn 2012

Welcome to the Autumn edition of KPMG's Social Housing Newsletter.

Housing is becoming increasingly high profile in the political arena. In early September, the Government announced a housing stimulus package, shortly before the appointment of a new housing minister. It will be interesting to see how the policy changes will play out as the details become clear. Further illustration of housing moving towards the centre of the political centre was seen with Ed Balls' proposal that revenues from 4G spectrum sales should be used to build affordable homes.

We would like to share our insights on some of the hot sector issues facing finance teams. Click on the titles below to access the full articles.

Financing options

There are a wide range of potential funding sources available - alternative financing options must be carefully evaluated.

Cost Sharing Exemption

The final guidance has arrived from HMRC.

Repairing and maintaining your business plan

Cost sharing exemption does not provide a VAT efficient solution for services from "commercial" suppliers. What else can you do?
