companies falling to administration,
being bought or being nationalised.
Financial institutions must focus on
a range of issues that will help direct
and shape future strategy from capital
to governance, regulation to risk management,

We are delighted to announce the launch of KPMG International’s 2009 report on global investment management.
Our industry has been fundamentally reshaped by the credit crisis.
Our report, Renewing the promise: Time to mend relationships in investment management, draws on the findings from our global survey of investment managers, investors and senior executives and provides analysis on how the industry will develop as a result.
Overwhelmingly, results indicated that if investment firms want to grasp the potential of this reshaping, mending relationships with investors, regulators and other stakeholders will be a key priority.
KPMG International commissioned Datamonitor to undertake the research. It includes a survey of 288 senior executives in 29 countries and further in-depth interviews with 22 executives from some of the most prominent investment managers and wealth managers. Both, the survey and the in-depth interviews were conducted during February and March 2009. Geographically, 30 percent were based in Western Europe, 30 percent in Asia Pacific, 30 percent in North America and 10 in the Middle East.
