Forensic Transaction
Services
Post Completion
KPMG
Forensic can help you to
deal with contentious situations
should they arise during
the transaction or after
the process has been completed.
1. Resolve disputes without
spending time, effort and money
in court
If disputes arise over the
completion accounts or performance
of the acquired business,
we can advise you on the viability
of the claim, and help to present
the case effectively, whether
in settlement negotiations
or in the dispute
resolution process.
Where we are independent of
the parties, we can act as the
accounting expert, determining
disputes without costly and time-consuming
litigation.
2. Ensure compliance with competition
laws
Where merger approval for
your acquisition necessitates
giving undertakings to a
competition authority, typically
involving divestment of a
business operation, brand or product
line, we can act as Monitoring
Trustee to help guide you through
the process and limit the disruption
to your business.
We have performed this role
on many global mergers including
AOL/Time Warner and Exxon/Mobil.
3. Investigate allegations of
financial crime and corruption
Should allegations surface
post-completion, we can help
you identify the facts, trace
lost funds or assets, analyse
data for ‘red
flags’ and weaknesses, make
recoveries and take appropriate
action. We can also help
you to respond to Government-led
extra-territorial bribery
and corruption investigations.*
Drawing on our wealth of experience,
we aim to give timely, practical
and objective advice throughout
the investigation process
to help achieve positive
results.
