KPMG’s Solvent Reconstructions and Liquidations (SLR)  team are specialists in providing closure strategies for solvent companies.  The U.K. SLR team of approximately 30 provides national coverage from London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Reading, Liverpool and Leeds.

We can help to streamline groups, freeing up management time and resource, advise on and implement the closure and wind-down of businesses, return shareholder value and effect complex reconstructions.

The UK SRL team offers four main services:

• Group streamlining - The elimination by solvent liquidation or striking off of dormant, non-trading or redundant companies to simplify legal entity structures and thereby reduce corporate governance risk and expense.
• Managed exits - Advice on, assistance with and the implementation of business closures and the solvent liquidation of companies to return funds to shareholders.

• Investment trust liquidations - The liquidation of investment trusts to return cash to shareholders or as part of a reconstruction or other scheme to enhance shareholder value.

• Reconstruction liquidations - Advice on and the implementation of commercially driven demergers or corporate splits in a tax efficient manner.
